EU Day 2021

Key Infrastructure Projects

Investments in human capital and infrastructure complement and reinforce each other. Built infrastructure projects such as roads and bridges contribute to human capital development by creating jobs and developing skills. Furthermore they improve health, education and employment outcomes by facilitating access to work opportunities, healthcare, schools and new markets. In turn, a healthy, educated workforce can earn more and invest more in an economy’s physical capital.

The Bandajuma-Liberia Border Road and Bridges Project and the Moyamba to Moyamba Junction Road and Bridges Project have also directly contributed to the human capital development of local communities by constructing classroom blocks to reduce overcrowding and provide more conducive learning environments for local children.
