WITH EU SUPPORT: PMU ENGAGES STAKEHOLDERS ON SUSTAINABLE WATER PROVISION AND MANAGEMENT IN LOCAL COUNCILS

With support from the European Union, the Programme Management Unit (PMU) has today 1st March 2021, organised a one-day conference on Sustainable Water Provision and Management in Local Councils as part of its support to local councils in the implementation of their European Union grants.

The conference is organised to create a platform to stimulate discussions and address some of the challenges that have undermined the effective provision and sustainable management of water resources and facilities in rural communities managed by local councils.

The Conference’s goal is to generate ideas that can inform the planning and implementation of activities in the grant contracts of the local councils focused on water accessibility and improvement.

Participants are drawn from Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development, Ministry of Water Resources, InterAid, Welthunger Hilfe (WHH), Development initiative programme (DIP)
